Lynden Craft and Antique Show

Potpourri and candles…

Spoons from Goodwill masquerading as “antiques”…

Pillows and painted birdhouses…

Painted colanders scavenged from Goodwill…

and clunky jewelry.

Wasn’t this supposed to be a Craft and Antique show?  I think I’ll pass.

On October 13 through 15 is the Lynden Craft and Antique Show.  Few people outside of Lynden realize that this is really a racist event.  The “good people” of Lynden are old, white, and Christian.  Most of them are from Dutch heritage which is a Germanic people.  Like Germans, they’re very vain and quite racist.  Hitler had nothing on these guys.

Over the past four years several of my friends and colleagues have tried to get into this show.  It’s a “juried” show and the jury consists of Judy Meixner and Trudy Ferguson.  They are intentionally vague about how the booths are “juried” but every year the same white people are given booths while the darker skinned locals are shunned.

So for those of you who are considering going to this event, remember these are the same lame booths from last year.  There’s nothing new.  And it costs $6 per person.  If you really think looking at candles and potpourri, spoons from Goodwill, pillows and birdhouses, painted colanders, and clunky jewelry are worth paying $6 a person to see, then go.  Since I don’t approve of racism, I’ll pass.  I can drive over to the Goodwill on Sunset and see all the antiques I want.  🙂

Now for the real fun and where I will be going, the 263-booth international arts and crafts festival in downtown Anacortes August 5 through 7.  No fees and 263 booths.  Ample parking.  And there will be darker skinned people there with plenty of crafts.  🙂

Lynden, you really should be ashamed of yourselves.
